RESPA Presidents Message
I’m Hoping the start of the new school year has gone well for all of you. Your association has already hit the ground running. We have been addressing a number of things with the district along with planning a number of events for RESPA this year.
Interviews for School Board candidates were held last week and the PAC Committee recommendation for endorsements will be taken to Rep Council on Monday September 26th for approval.
The process of proof reading the new contract by the Association and District has been completed. We expect the new contract to be available online and for your Site Rep’s to have hard copies within the next few weeks.
This is also an important year on the political front, as a rule I normally don’t voice my political views in a public format but there are some very important things at stake this year regarding school funding that will affect each and every one of us. I’m asking you to please take the time to inform yourself about Proposition 55 and other important issues that will have effect on our future and consider the importance of passing such Propositions.
We have seen what happens when the State funding for schools is reduced. It has taken years for us to even start the recovery process from the last State funding reduction for education.
What I’m truly asking is for you to take the time and effort to not only be informed but to actively vote in all the elections whether it’s Local, State or Federal, it truly matters.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or any Executive Board or Site Rep member.
With great appreciation,
